Privacy

This website is a personal portfolio. It sets no tracking cookies, it runs no advertising and it profiles nobody. What follows is the full account of the little data involved in visiting it.

Who is responsible

Michele Piazzoli, Italy, is the data controller for this website and can be reached at piazzoli.michele1@gmail.com.

Cookies

This website writes no cookies on your device. There are no advertising cookies, no profiling cookies and no third party scripts loading in the background. The typefaces are the ones already installed on your system, and every image, stylesheet and file is served from this same website.

What data is involved

Opening a web page means asking a server for it, and the server records that request. Those technical records hold the IP address of the visitor, the date and time, the page requested, the browser and the operating system in use. They are generated automatically by the hosting infrastructure and are not used to identify anyone.

Aggregated visit measurement may be used to know how many people reach the site and which pages they open. It is collected on the server side, in aggregate form, without cookies and without any identifier stored on your device.

If you write to the email address published here, the message and the address it comes from are handled for the sole purpose of answering you.

Why, and on which legal basis

Technical records exist to deliver the pages, to keep the website secure and to fix errors. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operating and protecting the website, under Article 6.1.f of Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Email correspondence is handled on the basis of the request you make by writing.

Where the data is, and who sees it

The website is hosted on Netlify, which processes the technical records described above on behalf of the controller and operates infrastructure outside the European Union. Those transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for commercial purposes.

The links to GitHub and LinkedIn lead to services run by other companies. Once you follow them, their own privacy terms apply, not these.

How long it is kept

Technical records are kept for the limited period needed for security and diagnostics, then discarded. Aggregated visit measurement holds no personal data once aggregated. Email correspondence is kept as long as the exchange is useful, and removed on request.

Your rights

You have the right to ask what data concerning you is held, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. A message to piazzoli.michele1@gmail.com is enough. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

Changes to this page

If the way this website works changes, this page changes with it, and the date below is updated.
